CONSTRUCTION
SECTOR
The driving principle of the company’s activity was the specialization
in technical subjects with know-how, research support and special
technology: such as geoconstructions, environmental projects and
undersea works. At the same time it has a long experience in the
construction of every category of works and participates in the large
projects, within the framework of the Community Support Package, of the
Olympic Games of 2004 as well as self-financed ones (ΒΟΤ, ΒΟΟ).
Since 1998 the company proceeded to the strategic planning of a network
of companies that covers the whole of Greece,
which is active in two axes for the obtaining of larger economies of
scale: the geographic dispersion and the variety of degrees. The new law
regarding the construction companies differentiated the previous
original plan and today THEMELIODOMI is the only contractor of the new 7th
class which is located outside
Athens,
while the constructions group consists of a series of contractors of the
new 6th, and 4th class.
DEVELOPMENT
SECTOR
LAND DEVELOPMENT & REAL ESTATE MANAGEMENT
THEMELIODOMI is one of the leaders in the area of land development and real estate management,
as it is active for 7 years, starting in 1995 with the acquisition of the
former plant of PETZETAKIS, which was restructured in a high standard,
technology and aesthetics modern building of an area of 30,000 m2 and
was resold to the Computer Service of the Ministry of Finance.
Today the company owns a significant real estate portfolio
totaling 250,000 m2. The real estate management of the company is
fully staffed, administers a database of over 500 pieces of property
from all over Greece
and has created a network of co-operation with businesses from the
industrial, tourist, public sector etc. At the same time it has
undertaken the development of existing and new real estate of the
company.
TOURISM
The area of tourism and specifically the specialized tourism started
being a strategic interest of the company in the early 2000. IONIOS
Development S.A. was established and EXANTAS Business Consultants was
acquired, a company with long experience in programs of local,
peripheral development and specialized tourism. Additionally, the
company TOPOS S.A.
was established for the management of programs in farm-tourism, biologic
cultivations and relative activities of the Group. Today, IONIOS is
completing the structuring of a luxury hotel with a capacity of 220 beds
in Lefkada, while TOPOS has already created a small guesthouse and
outdoor activities (No Limits) network in the wider area of Pindos.
PARKING LOTS
The problem of parking in many cities of Greece
has aroused the interest of the company during the last two years and
for this reason it is considering pieces of land property for their
potentials on the subject in areas such as Athens,
Thessaloniki,
Larissa, Ioannina etc. At the same time the company is participating in
public competitions of bids as well. Today the company has undertaken
– through a bid – the construction and management of four underground parking lots in Larissa (512 parking spaces),
in
Ioannina (530 parking spaces) and in Kalamaria Thessaloniki (two parking
lots with 414 total parking spaces) while it has completed and is operating
the parking station of Veria (210 parking spaces).
ENERGY
SECTOR
ENERGY PRODUCTION
The Energy Management of the Group is staffed by a team of specialist
scientists who study the renewable energy sources and research for new,
suitable for energy production in several areas of
Greece
.
Until today, there are designs for energy production from
water, air and sun, while there is also interest for natural
gas. Today, THEMELIODOMI has submitted to the Regulatory Energy
Authority 4 applications for Aeolian parks of a capacity of 105 MW
approximately, 5 applications for small hydroelectric plans of a
capacity of 35 MW approximately while at the same time it is considering
new proposals.
INDUSTRIAL
PRODUCTION
However, the company gives a high degree of emphasis on solar energy. For
this reason, and in a joint effort with a specialized American house,
established HELIODOMI S.A.,
for the industrial production of photovoltaic systems.
Photovoltaic systems are high technology products and take advantage of
solar radiation for the production of energy. The specific technology
can be applied in a huge area has a large number of applications,
starting from batteries of micro-apparatuses (calculators, clocks etc),
isolated facilities (parking lots, telephone booths, houses etc) up to
power plants. Today, HELIODOMI is completing its factory in the
Industrial Zone of Kilkis and has already completed projects such as the
station of the Organizational Committee of the 2004 Olympic Games, the
experimental station in Navarra,
Spain
and other smaller projects.
INTERNATIONAL
SECTOR
Taking for granted the proximity and the common tradition, the company
has already taken under consideration, since 1995, its large business
interest in the Balkan Market. In 1998 THEMELIODOMI established
TEROM Themeliodomi in Romania,
which in October 2000 acquired the Romanian listed constructions company
SOCED, while it has offices in Albania
since 1999. Recently, it established, in co-operation with its
subsidiary company EXANDAS, the companies EXANDAS Sofia and EΧANTAS
Istanbul for the further activity of the Group in
Bulgaria
and Turkey.
At the same time, THEMELIODOMI has co-operation contacts with companies
in Serbia
and FYROM. In October 2002, the company acquired the THOLANDER
in Germany,
which is active in the gaseous pollutants processing.
